James, Jamie's Story
My Life. Not a lot going on really, other than work and reenacting (War between the States) I still love the beaches,
marshes & rivers. I try to go to one of them as often as I can. I still love sailing but have not been on the water since getting rid of my boat. I'm single, not really dating anyone special. I lost my mother Joyce Carter Parks last July. Many
of you may remember her as a Study Hall Teacher and in the Guidance Office.
My son Stuart Beckmann Parks has married and lives in Canterberry woods. They have moved to Smithfield, Va. (last summer.) He had hoped to become a police officer, lack of funding ended that dream...Expand for more
. (THANKS OBAMA!!) Meredith will own & operate her old dance studio, where she learned to dance. I'm gonna miss seeing my buddy. They have found a house to buy and plan to move in before Christmas 2014. He is a district manager with Advance Auto.
My Job
I'm the operational manager of Magnolia Cemetery. I just love the history and beauty of this great, historic place. Takes a lot of time with weekend work and being "on call" when/as needed. But I just don't see me doing anything else.
I hope to retire from there is about 10 years or so, (70!) I remember not thinking I, or the world would not last till
I was 30!!
